The free water test

Is the water test really free?

Yes. There's no charge and no obligation to buy. We test your water, look at your plumbing and tell you what fits. If you'd like a quote, we write one up.

What happens at the water test?

We test hardness and other basics at a tap, look at where a system would go (the plumbing loop, a drain and an outlet), ask about your household and what's bothering you, then walk you through options and prices.

Do I need to be home?

Yes. An adult needs to be there to let us reach a kitchen tap and the main water line.

Will the test tell me if my water is safe to drink?

No. Our in-home test helps choose equipment. Only a certified lab test can tell you whether water is safe, and we can point you to one.

I have a well. Is the process different?

Yes. We test for more things, such as iron, sulfur and pH, and may suggest a lab test. Well systems are designed and quoted after testing.

Prices and paying

How much does a water softener cost?

Our Soft package starts at $2,999 installed for a standard installation. Softener plus whole-home carbon (Clean + Soft) starts at $4,399, and adding kitchen reverse osmosis (Complete Home) starts at $5,299. Your exact price is in a written quote after the water test.

What could make my price higher?

Needing a new plumbing loop, no drain or outlet nearby, removing old equipment, permit fees or unusual plumbing. Anything extra is listed in your written quote before you sign.

When do I pay?

Your agreement shows any deposit and when the balance is due, which is usually when installation is finished. Any applicable tax is shown on your quote.

Do you offer financing?

Not right now. If that changes, the lender's terms will be posted before anyone can apply.

Can I cancel after I sign?

Yes. When you sign after an in-home visit, you can cancel within 3 business days for a full refund, paid within 10 business days. We don't schedule installation until that period ends.

Choosing a system

What's the difference between a softener and a filter?

A softener removes hardness minerals that cause scale and spots. A carbon filter reduces chlorine taste and smell. They solve different problems, and many homes want both.

Do I need reverse osmosis too?

Only if you want better drinking and cooking water from a separate kitchen faucet. A softener and whole-home filter don't replace it.

Will a softener make my water healthier?

No. A softener is about scale, spots and cleaning, not health. We don't make health claims about any system.

Installation

How long does installation take?

Most standard installations are finished in one visit. Your installer confirms the timing when they call with your arrival time.

Who does the installation?

A Texas-licensed plumber, and we get any permit your city requires.

Will my water be off?

For part of the visit, while the system is connected.

What should I have ready?

Clear access to the installation spot, the main water line, a drain and an electrical outlet.

Can you install on a home with a septic system?

Yes. We use a demand-initiated softener and route the discharge the way Texas septic rules allow.

After installation

What's the warranty?

Our 2-year workmanship warranty covers our installation work, and the equipment has its manufacturer's warranty, which we give you in writing.

What maintenance is needed?

Keep the softener's salt tank filled, and change RO filters on schedule (prefilter about every 6 months). We can handle filter changes and checkups on a service visit.

Do you service systems you didn't install?

Yes, when parts are available and the system is in workable condition. Tell us the brand and model if you know it.

Where are my records?
