What it fixes
- Chlorine or "pool" taste and smell
- Better-tasting water at every tap, not just the kitchen
- Showers without the chlorine smell
How it works
Water flows through a tank of catalytic carbon that grabs chlorine and many taste and odor compounds. The tank backwashes itself on a schedule to keep the carbon working. Because it's separate from the softener, each can be serviced on its own.
What's included
- Backwashing catalytic carbon tank, sized to your home's flow
- Our whole-home softener (Clean + Soft package)
- Standard installation, setup and walkthrough
- 2-year workmanship warranty plus the manufacturer's warranty
When it's not the right fit
Iron, sulfur smell and heavy sediment need different treatment, and wells often need testing first. Your free water test tells us which you have.
Care
Backwashing keeps the carbon clean but doesn't make it last forever. We plan carbon replacement around your water and use, typically years apart.
Common questions
Do I need a filter if I have a softener?
Only if you also want to reduce chlorine taste and smell. A softener alone doesn't change taste or odor.
Is this the same as a drinking-water system?
No. Whole-home carbon improves taste and smell everywhere. Kitchen reverse osmosis is a separate system for drinking and cooking water.
Will it lower my water pressure?
It's sized to your home's flow so pressure stays normal. Sizing is part of your free water test.
